Pioneers into Practice
Open project database
Pioneers into Practice programme is part of a Europe wide EIT (European Institution of Innovation and Technology) Climate-KIC network. Its purpose is to give birth to new innovations, business and practices for building a more sustainable society.
Climate change mitigation requires novel solutions and ways of thinking. Pioneers into Practice puts these novel solutions and transitional ways of thinking in the forefront, and it brings together experts from different sectors. Participants get an opportunity to receive training and work experience in another programme member organization abroad. The training concerns systems innovations and transitions, after which they also complete a 4-6 week work exchange. This gives the Finnish member organizations the opportunity to train their own experts, and in turn welcome foreign experts to visit their ranks.
Akordi has been involved with the program since 2018. In 2018-2019 Akordi’s experts coached the Pioneers participating in the program. Akordi’s Emma Luoma also participated in the programme as a Pioneer. In 2018 she did an exchange in Timisoara, Romania, at the Water & Environmental Efficiency Association.
In autumn 2019, Akordi served as a Pioneers Placement host and welcomed one foreign expert into the company. In 2020, Akordi supported Pioneers working on group assignments that focused on concrete sustainability challenges.
