State of play and promotion of the Water protection programme with stakeholders
Open project database
Akordi provides the Ministry of Environment with an expert service for the organisation of workshops on monitoring and promotion of water and marine protection measures.
The aim is to establish a common view with stakeholders of the implementation status of water and marine management plans and to identify ways to strengthen and promote measures where implementation gaps have been identified.
The work includes a preliminary task and the planning, organisation and facilitation of a workshop in cooperation with the Ministry.
Each of the four workshops in the workshop series will address both water and marine management measures and seek synergies in the implementation of water and marine management measures, such as controlling nutrient loads from the catchment area and preventing eutrophication. The workshops will provide input for future work by water and marine management authorities and cooperation groups, for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of measures and for improving the flow of information between actors.
Themes of the workshops are 1. agriculture and forestry 2. urban, rural, industrial and transport 3. aquatic and marine biodiversity, protection, sustainable use and restoration 4. maritime transport and risks.
Akordi will produce a summary report of the results of the work, describing the key findings of the workshops and the preliminary exercise, and the process of the workshops.
The aim of the work is not only to support the EU reporting on the implementation of the measures at the end of 2024, but also to encourage cooperation between those responsible for planning and implementing water and marine management to achieve the objectives.
