I graduated in 2016 from the University of Eastern Finland, majoring in environmental policy and natural resources governance. In my thesis I studied how environmental disasters can act as the drivers for policy change. I am especially interested in the processes of natural resource governance and the challenges that are often intertwined to them. I believe investing in collaborative approaches could bring numerous benefits in many of these cases. In my PhD, I am studying new collaborative governance mechanisms and their applicability to the Finnish natural resource governance, particularly in biodiversity conservation and mining contexts.
