Training and Coaching
Social acceptability is a critical resource for companies to have, especially when dealing with environmental issues. Without social acceptability, companies can expect to encounter growing opposition from local communities. This causes delays in project schedule, rising expenses, and potentially even a complete cancellation of the project. By taking social acceptability into consideration and carefully planning stakeholder participation companies can save resources and build a more sustainable foundation for their business.
Akordi’s program covers the most common characteristics of environmental conflicts between private actors, local communities and public sector organizations. During the training participants learn to achieve mutually shared and sustainable results in negotiations with multiple stakeholders. Participants will also learn how to successfully gather social acceptability from key stakeholders using effective communication strategies. Akordi’s approach is based on the Mutual Gains Approach to Negotiation developed by the Consensus Building Institute (Massachusetts, USA).
