The National Climate Change Adaptation Plan 2022, published in 2014, is a strategic tool made to ensure that the Finnish society has the capacity to manage risks associated with climate change and to adapt to the changing environment. The interim review of the plan is meant to assess the plan’s implementation and identify points where further development is needed to achieve the goals of the plan.

Akordi, in collaboration with Tyrsky Consulting Oy, carried out an overview of stakeholder opinions as part of the mid-term review. According to the review, more awareness of weather and climate-related risks should be raised. Adapting to a changing environment requires a clear understanding of responsibilities. It is also vital to develop sector-spesific guidelines along with tools and instructions that help local and regional actors to strengthen their adaptive capacity.
