RELEX Foundation: In Finland, Akordi is a pioneer in environmental mediation

The RELEX Foundation, which has funded our work, highlights our organization and our approach in a recently published article that emphasizes the importance of local communities’ voice in green transition projects. For the transition to succeed, it is fundamentally important that local residents are involved in decision-making and that their views are not ignored.

At Akordi, we believe that conflicts signal that something people value is at stake. That is why our work focuses on preventing and resolving conflicts through active listening, building trust, collaborative problem-solving, and consensus building.
