Through training and sparring, we aim to provide capacities for collaboration between multiple actors and for planning and carrying out processes aimed at integrating different goals. We support our customers in implementing these tools and help them identify what is needed in each situation. In our trainings, we review more deeply the basic principles, processes and personal skills of collaboration.

In negotiation and consensus building, an acceptable solution is sought for a jointly identified problem. We help to plan and implement a process suitable for this goal, based on interest based negotiation and support provided by an external neutral party.

See our preferences.

We offer help in situations where, in order to make the best possible decision, more information or understanding is needed, for example, regarding the views of stakeholders or the acceptability of the proposed actions. We also help strengthen the societal impact of research.

Often decision-making requires collaboration with different parties. We plan and help to implement processes in which different actors can collaborate meaningfully and effectively.

With situation assessment, we help identify which are the key issues in terms of the problem at hand, what kind of relationships the parties have and how the methods of collaboration should be developed. An assessment made by a neutral party is usually based on interviews with key parties and helps with planning the process and focusing on the right questions.

We help to develop new methods and practices, for example in order to support collaboration between actors, to develop internal work in organizations or to promote systemic changes.

Effective cooperation requires trust. We help to build open dialogue in situations where there are different views on the problem to be solved and lack of communication between the parties.

In joint fact finding, the responsibility for finding and assimilating information is given to a group of parties representing different interests instead of an individual decision maker. The task of the group is to negotiate what kind of information and knowledge production would best satisfy the needs of all parties regarding the scientific quality of the information, transparency, etc. We help in planning these processes and guiding the work.

An interest based negotiation process that begins with an assessment of the situation/conflict is best suited for public conflict resolution, such as mediation for environmental disputes. If the prerequisites for a joint process exist, the process can proceed to the designing of the mediation process and defining of its goals, ground rules, roles and responsibilities. The latter phases of the process include joint fact finding, negotiations and agreeing on the commitments.
