Essi Arminen
I started at Akordi in January 2026 as a junior expert. During the spring, I will be working mainly on a project to scale up conflict anticipation and resolution activities related to the green transition.
I have a master’s degree in social sciences, majoring in environmental policy. During my studies, I became interested in natural resource management issues, fairness and participation in environmental policy, and collaborative governance methods. For example, my master’s thesis dealt with the cooperation between forestry companies and environmental organizations in the restoration of drained peatlands in North Karelia. I found it particularly interesting how actors in environmental policy, who are often perceived as opposites, can successfully cooperate in natural resource management when projects serve the goals and interests of both parties.
