Maria Johansson

I am joining Akordi as a Sustainability Specialist as part of my Specialist Vocational Qualification in the environmental field. My work will focus on mapping and developing tools that measure Akordi’s impact during autumn and winter 2026-2027.

My background is international, having completed two degrees abroad. In 2022, I graduated with a BSc in Global Sustainability Sciences from Utrecht University, where I focused on environmental governance and societal transformation. After that, I completed my MSc in Environmental Communication and Management at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), where I grew an interest in participatory decision-making. During this time, I developed a particular interest in the inclusion of youth in environmental policy, which I explored during my master’s thesis, which focused on studying dialogues between youth and decision-makers in climate-related dialogues.
