Samo Pohja

I am an intern at Akordi since January 2026. During my internship, I am learning about conflicts related to zoning and energy projects. I will map out zoning projects in Ostrobothnia and compile an overview of them for both stakeholders and Akordi. I will also write my master’s thesis on this topic, which will be related in one way or another to renewable energy, zoning, stakeholders, and collaborative governance.

Previously, as an environmental educator, I have worked with environmental policy issues in a hands-on manner, for example, in nature clubs, participatory planning, civic engagement, and campaigning. In my studies, I have focused on environmental policy and regional science, as well as sustainable development, economic management, and the business sector. In my bachelor’s thesis, I examined how ecosystem agreements function as a tool for innovation policy and sustainable urban development. I am inspired to combine and grow my expertise in various topics related to the sustainability transition.
