Akordi published a playbook for green transition operators – download the guide to use

Akordi has published a free playbook to support green transition actors. The main message is that conflicts are not to be avoided or won, they can be resolved together.

Akordi’s playbook focuses on the early stages of project development. It provides proven tools for thinking and doing that can help project developers, municipal policy makers, public officials and civil society to improve their collaboration.

Akordi’s Playbook is based on more than a decade of experience in how to jointly resolve conflicts over land use and natural resources. The work is based on conflict resolution theory and practice. The playbook shows how the principles and methods of multi-party negotiation can be applied to the everyday life of the green transition.

The main message of the playbook is that conflicts are not necessarily to be avoided or won. They can be anticipated by taking better account of the specific local environmental characteristics and the needs of the local community from the very first steps of the project. However, if conflicts do arise, they can be dealt with constructively and resolved, if needed with the help of an independent mediator.
