There is a clear and pressing need for negotiated resolutions to environmental disputes. For over a decade now, Finland has gained highly promising experience with procedures based on joint problem-solving by the parties involved.

The afternoon session on environmental mediation will feature practical experiences and research findings on the neutral third-party model and its development in Finland.

In their presentations, Akordi’s experts will discuss the role of the independent facilitator and the results achieved. The panel discussion will feature societal influencers who will examine the current situation from their respective perspectives.
