Facilitating interaction in Helen’s nuclear power development

Helen is currently investigating the conditions for building small modular reactors in Helsinki as part of its goal to transition to non-combustible energy production by 2040. Based on preliminary studies, the Vuosaari and Salmisaari power plant areas and the Norrberget area in Östersundom have been selected as potential sites for the plant.
Akordi acts as an external neutral party in the process, promoting and assisting in the interaction between the various parties. We facilitate public and resident events as an independent party, ensuring that everyone present can find the event meaningful. This includes ensuring that speakers can perform their expert roles in peace, that those asking questions receive answers that are as understandable as possible, that as many willing participants as possible have the opportunity to speak, and that the atmosphere of the event remains professional and positive. As part of the preparations for the events, we also contact residents’ associations and other actors in advance to identify and take into account their wishes and needs at the events.
