Taika Tikkanen
I have been part of the Akordi team since December 2024, working on a wide range of assignments and themes. I am primarily responsible for Akordi’s external communications across various channels, and I have had the opportunity to contribute to the production of our trainings and events as well as a variety of interesting projects and themes such as anticipating and resolving conflicts related to the green transition, strategic stakeholder engagement, collaboration between the reindeer herding and wind power sectors, natural resource planning in the Sámi Homeland, and the just hydrogen transition.
In 2026, I graduated from Tampere University with a Master of Administrative Sciences, majoring in Environmental Policy and Regional Studies. During my studies, I focused particularly on environmental conflict management and questions of justice in the sustainability transition. In my master’s thesis, I examined the mediation process related to the legislative preparation of the Kvarken nature conservation area, which to date represent the most extensive environmental dispute resolution process in Finland facilitated by an independent third party. My case study examined the stages of the mediation process carried out by Akordi, as well as the practices and principles that were key to its success. I also hold a Bachelor of Education in Lifelong Learning and Education, with a focus on environmental education and the role of learning in societal change. In my bachelor’s thesis, I analyzed the values of sustainable economic policy leadership education from the perspective of eco-social literacy in adult education.
